Lign vs Janus
face before & after
Janus aligns faces. Lign aligns faces, bodies, pets, teeth, hair, scars, and any object you tap.
Where Janus stops
Faces only. The marketing copy lists skincare, fitness, treatments, and personal growth: every category that involves a face. The breadth ends there.
Where Lign starts
Twenty-eight landmarks across face, body, animal pose, and arbitrary tapped objects. Manual mode for anything Vision can't auto-detect.

From real users and the press
All processing happens on your device with photos never leaving your phone.
Smart face alignment that automatically detects and aligns facial features for accurate comparisons.
Janus and Lign agree on the most important thing: photos should never leave the phone. Both run alignment on-device using Apple’s Vision framework. That part isn’t a competitive distinction. It’s table stakes for anyone serious about photo privacy.
The competitive distinction is breadth. Janus aligns faces. Lign aligns faces, bodies, pets, teeth, hair, scars, art, plants, and any object you tap. The use cases Janus’s own marketing lists (skincare, fitness, treatments, personal growth) are a subset of Lign’s. The use cases Janus does not serve (pet glow-ups, the wedding sunglasses trend, hair transplant grow-ins, body recomposition, plant timelapses, art progression) are use cases Lign was built around from the first version.
If you only ever compare faces, Janus is fine. If you compare anything else, you’ll outgrow it.
